Terms of Service

Welcome to StayShare+. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and StayShare+ (“StayShare”, “we”, “us”), the operator of stayshareplus.com and the StayShare+ mobile applications (together, the “Platform”). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. This document is published in English; translations are provided for convenience and the English version governs.

1. What StayShare+ is

StayShare+ is an online marketplace that lets hosts publish accommodation listings and lets guests discover and book them. When you book a stay, the contract for the accommodation itself is between you and the host. StayShare provides the Platform, payment processing, messaging, and support — we do not own, manage, or inspect the accommodations listed, and we are not a party to the stay.

2. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a booking.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and keep it current. Accounts are personal: you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
  • We may require identity, phone, or email verification for certain actions (for example claiming a listing or receiving payouts).

3. Bookings

  • A booking is confirmed when payment succeeds and the Platform marks the reservation confirmed. The confirmation email and your Trips page are the record of the booking.
  • You agree to respect the listing’s house rules, occupancy limits, and check-in and check-out times shown on the listing page.
  • Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listings — descriptions, photos, amenities, pricing, and availability.

4. Pricing and payments

  • StayShare charges guests no service fee (0% commission). The nightly price you see on a listing is the price used at checkout, plus any cleaning fee and taxes that are itemised before you pay. There are no fees revealed only at checkout.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. StayShare never stores your full card details. Charges are made in the listing’s currency; your card issuer may apply its own conversion rate and fees.
  • Host payouts are made through Stripe Connect and are typically released about 7 days after check-out, subject to the host completing payout onboarding.
  • Travel credits, when issued (for example when you cancel for credit), are not cash, are non-transferable, apply automatically at checkout, and are subject to the terms shown when they were issued.
  • Keep bookings and payments on-platform. Off-platform payment requests are a violation of our Community Standards and are not covered by StayShare protections.

5. Cancellations and refunds

Every listing displays a cancellation policy (Flexible, Moderate, Strict, or Non-refundable). Your refund is determined by that policy and by how far ahead of check-in you cancel, as set out in the Cancellation Policy. If a host cancels your booking, you receive a full refund. Approved cash refunds are returned to your original payment method via Stripe; you may instead choose travel credit where offered.

6. Imported listings and claiming

Some listings on the Platform were created from publicly available information to help travellers discover accommodations in our launch markets. The real-world owner of an imported listing can claim it through our verification process (phone verification or proof of control of the original listing) — or ask us to remove it at any time via the Help Center. An imported listing is display-only until it has been claimed, verified, and activated by its owner.

7. Reviews and content

  • Reviews must reflect a genuine stay and your honest experience. Manipulated, traded, or retaliatory reviews are removed and may lead to account action.
  • You retain ownership of content you post (photos, descriptions, reviews) and grant StayShare a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host and display it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
  • You must have the rights to any content you upload.

8. Prohibited conduct

You may not: misrepresent yourself, a listing, or a stay; discriminate against guests or hosts (see our Nondiscrimination Policy); use the Platform for parties or events prohibited by the host, or for any unlawful purpose; scrape, probe, or disrupt the Platform; circumvent fees, verification, or security controls; or harass other members. We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that break these rules, with severity matched to the violation.

9. Liability

The Platform is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, StayShare is not liable for the acts or omissions of hosts or guests, for the condition of accommodations, or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your mandatory rights as a consumer in your country of residence. Where StayShare is liable, our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid through the Platform in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Disputes with StayShare

Contact us first via the Help Center — most issues are resolved by our support team. These Terms are governed by the law of the place where StayShare is established, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules and courts of your country of residence where those apply.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. For material changes we will give notice (by email or in-product) before they take effect; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. You can close your account at any time from Account settings; bookings already made remain subject to their cancellation policies.
